Last Friday, Joe Burrow signed the richest contract in NFL history — A five-year extension worth 275 Million dollars! Bengals fans are ecstatic. Opposing fan-bases are declaring the contract insane. Officially, I am team Burrow. I’m glad we extended him for one specific reason—He brings “belief” with him everywhere he goes.
A meaningful reflection of Jesus happens when we invite others to believe.
Joe Burrow believes that he will succeed. His belief along with his performance has become infectious. His teammates believe they can win with Joe Burrow as their quarterback. The city believes the Bengals can win with Joe Burrow. Belief is an important component of winning. You rarely achieve something without believing it can happen. Burrow brings belief to the organization, team, and fan-base.
As followers of Jesus we are supposed to operate with a high-level of belief in Jesus and what He wants to do next in and through our lives. How we follow Jesus, we can impact the level of belief in others. Yes, it’s their decision to believe in Jesus, but we can help foster belief.
How do We “Bring” Belief to Others?
1. Inspired by your belief: Many people will learn about belief in Jesus from watching the way we walk with Jesus. It will resonate with their deepest desires for “more” as they pursue meaning and purpose. Each day is an opportunity to model life-impacting belief in Jesus. As people see Jesus move in our lives, it can deepen their belief.
2. Invited to participate: Our job as disciples of Jesus is to invite others into the journey. If we aren’t regularly sharing the gospel and inviting people to make a decision, what are we doing?!?!
3. Included in the mission: Another way we invite people into a deeper level of belief is to invite them to participate in kingdom activities. As we pursue God-sized vision, our belief in God becomes apparent. As we bring others along for the journey, their belief grows as they watch God come through in ways only He can.
Luke 1:37 say’s “For nothing will be impossible with God.” If we believe this, it should impact how we live each day and what we seek to accomplish for God. May our level of belief ever increase in volume and expression.
Keep Reflecting Jesus!
